GT Reading Kids Ministry Coordinator

In this position, you will oversee an engaging children’s ministry at a GT multi-site location by executing programming, recruitment, and outreach while partnering with parents to help children become fully devoted followers of Jesus. This part-time role (15-20 hours per week) serves to facilitate a genuine sense of belonging, involvement, and spiritual growth by meeting kids where they are and leading them to next steps. This role will facilitate the relational connection and spiritual growth of kids through weekend programs, environments, and special events.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit volunteers by casting vision, sharing wins, and stirring excitement that shows them how much of a difference they can make in the life of a child
  • Develop coaches to assist in the caring for and training of volunteers to expand your capacity
  • Coordinate with the GT Kids team to execute ministry-wide volunteer appreciations
  • Implement kids & preteen programming on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights for Nursery (birth – 23 months), Preschool (2-5 years-old), Elementary (K-3rd) and Preteens (4th-6th)
  • ​​Oversee and implement a first-time experience for new infants and their families
  • In coordination with central location, execute GT Kids events
  • In coordination with central location, execute community outreaches
  • In coordination with central location, partner with parents to equip them to help their kids take their next steps toward Christ

Qualifications

  • Experience in building, developing, and leading successful volunteer teams
  • Experience in public speaking and ability to coach others
  • Displays a positive, fun, and energetic attitude that supports the vision and values of kids ministry at GT Church
  • Strong organizational management skills and the ability to lead with excellence
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Availability for weekly Sunday morning hours, weekly Wednesday evening hours, and occasional special services/events based on ministry demand
  • Previous experience leading in kids ministry, as an early childhood educator, or in a similar environment is a plus
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
